Project description: The Social Psychology laboratory has ongoing projects in the field of hate speech directed at vulnerable groups. The goal of the projects is to investigate which processes explain the adoption of hate speech on social networks, as well as the behavior that legitimizes these speeches (bystander effect, reinforcement of discriminatory extremist views, dissemination of hate messages). In addition to investigating these processes, the Laboratory is also preparing educational materials on this topic, with the aim of making them available to the community.
Activities to be developed by students: Survey and systematization of materials related to the theme (videos, legislation, educational activities, news, etc.); participation in data collection in a focus group study and/or participation in the design of a correlational study. Preparation of materials for inclusion on the project's website.
